FBC Katy has the honor of hosting half of an incredible weekend event happening because of the collaboration of several church student ministries from around Katy.

Pure Excitement is a ministry born out of a love for students and a desire for them to make God honoring choices in the area of love, dating and relationships. The night will feature an amazing message by Joe White the founder of Kanakuk Christian Camps based in southern Missouri. For years now Joe has had a front row seat to see and minister to student brokenness stemming from choices make in the area relationships.

Lending their talents to the evening we will also have with us Christian hip hop artist Andy Mineo. One of the hottest young talents in Christian hip hop. We will also welcome Corey Kent White, a country artist who recently showcased his faith and talent on NBC’s The Voice. Also from The Voice we will introduce Courtnie Ramirez, a resident of Bryan/College Station.

Tickets for this event are $10 in advance and $14 at the door. They can be purchased from local youth ministers or at www.pureexcitement.com.

Pure Excitement Practicals

Saturday, December 10
Pure Excitement Practicals is four hours of very intentional education, awareness and equipping for both students and parents when it comes to knowing what God teaches us about sex, pornography and sex trafficking.  It will feature two main sessions and two breakout times for more direct communication to specific groups.

The Saturday sessions will include two incredible speakers.

  • First, students and parents will hear from Laura Gallier, a speaker and author, who believes that “sex is God’s topic – and the Church should and must talk about it.”  Her approach is to “teach from the scriptures, relying on the wisdom of God’s Word to inspire men, women, and young people to embrace God’s profound purpose and plan for sex and romantic relationship.”
  • Next, participants will also hear from Cat French, a modern-day abolitionist who is passionate about seeing the end of human trafficking in Houston and around the world. She is a former sociology professor and researcher in the social sciences, with an extensive background in outreach and ministry to prostituted women and children. She is the founder and director of Elijah Rising and Kendleton Farm.

The Saturday event will occur from 9:30 – 1:30 pm at The Fellowship., 22765 Westheimer Parkway, Katy 77450.   The cost to attend Saturday sessions is $10 purchased in advance and $14 at the door.  Chick-Fil-A lunch is provided.
