My Apologies that these did not get posted this weekend. Due to some technical difficulties they never made it online. I am posting them now because these students did a tremendous job and I wanted to share their work.

Resurrection Week: SATURDAY

Ethan Ramos (11th Grade, Seven Lakes)

“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, (Tetelestai ) It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost.” -John 19:30 KJV

“Hote oun elaben to oxos ho Iēsous eipen (It is finished) Tetelestai kai klinas tēn kephalēn paredōken to pneuma”- John 19:30  Nestle GNT 1904 (in Greek, formatted to the English alphabet)

Tetelestai- it is finished,  or a more literal translation, it is fully developed. What was fully developed? What was finally done?

Christ died on the cross to fulfill God’s Covenant. As it says in Hebrews 9:15 (KJV)”And for this cause He is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. “We are all forgiven, through His death on the cross, cleansing our sin. Because of His obedience, even to  death, we could be born anew and have eternal life.

To add, everything, every promise since the time of Adam had been fulfilled had been completed, through Jesus. “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. ” -Genesis 3:15 (KJV.) This is when Jesus fulfilled what He had come to accomplish, this was the time when He struck the head. “And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; “-Matthew 27:51 KJV. Right after He said His last, the curtain had torn. Opening everybody to God. The first Covenant was finished. Only a few examples of covenants fulfilled through the death of Christ. Ending the old Testemant.

Easter should be known as the day Jesus fulfilled His testemant. The prophecies had been fulfilled that He would die due to our transgressions.”But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. ” – Isaiah 53:5 (KJV). Jesus’ death was much more than just to prove to us that He can survive death, or that He accomplished redeeming our sin. He had come to complete everything. Since the beginning, and still to come. God Himself on earth had kept everything true to all of us.

I have found that God’s love goes far beyond the boundaries we make Him out to be. From prophecies

to covenants since Adam to the prophets, it had been finished. He does not lie, and He does not do without purpose. To send His only son to die for us, and to open up the gate so that we all may have eternal life. Because it is complete, it is fully developed. There was no catch. And I hope this Easter people realize that there is nothing more important then to believe it is done, and that He will return. I don‘t think there are any better words Christ could have spoken at that moment. Rather letting us know; Tetelestai!
